Sukontha Buffet in Chiang Mai

"Huge selection of prepared foods and cook-yourself meats, vegies, etc. on tabletop brazier. Cavernous open-air space with hundreds of tables. Non-alcoholic drinks and desserts also included, all you can eat for 209 baht! I see some reviewers complaining about the food quality, but I guess I'm not very picky -- I think it's just fine. Beer and seafood cost extra, but still at good prices. If you're a tourist on holiday or just passing through, this place is worth a visit just for the experience!"

"It's a legit local dining experience. 199THB per pax for regular meal and 399THB for seafood. Soft drink inclusive. There's live band, wooden seating area. No air-conditioning but plenty of air. Many ready-cooked and raw food either prawn, shrimps, octopus, squid, pork, beef and vegetables. You get two pots at the table: one for charcoal grill, another for soup. Beer is sold separately. Their local bottled soda, "est" costs additional 10THB."

"Thai BBQ buffet. They have two menus seafood and meat. The seafood priced at 399 baht per person. They offer ready cooked and raw seafood. They give you two charcoal grills on your table. One you can put water on it to make your own soup. The grills you can use to grill the raw seafood on your own. The buffet has huge variety of seafood, meat, vegetables, fruites, soft drinks, desserts, spices, herbs and most of thai sauces. They have beer too at extra cost. The place is casual and is like a huge warehouse in the open air. They have live band too."

"If you like Mookata, you definitely gonna try this the Chiang Mai way. Huge space with large varieties of food and ingredients. When I was there, a middle aged male singer was performing on the stage, making the atmosphere even livelier. Just be aware of the hot charcoal pots on the table in front of you."

"Buffet style option. We did the seafood option at 399thb/pp. The option of seafood is pretty good and fresh, lots of choice with vegetables, meat and desserts too. On your table you get two sets of coals, one with a grill and the other to boil/steam items. The restaurant itself is a bit rough, but added to the experience. There is also live music."
